The Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program is for K-12 teachers to participate in engineering research in order to bring knowledge of engineering and technological innovation into their classrooms. The National Science foundation award IIT a 3 year grant to support RET for the summers of 2005-2008.

IIT offers two RET programs:

Corps of Educators Program
A seven week summer program that pairs K-12 teachers with an IIT Researcher Mentor to develop an educational module for their classroom.
2008 dates: June 23 - August 8

RET Workshop
A one week end-of-summer program during which the Corps of Educators present their educational modules to a group of teachers.
2008 dates: August 4 - 8
